How to Use Google Sheet Add-on When Exporting Shipment Data

Overview


AfterShip facilitates shipment tracking and lets merchants import shipments seamlessly. Now, we’ve made the process of shipment data export far easier with AfterShip Tracking's Google Sheet add-on.


Step 1: Get the Google sheet add-on


  1. Open a new Google spreadsheet or simply search sheets.new in your browser
  2. Go to Extensions > Select Add-ons and click Get add-ons
  3. Search AfterShip Tracking in Google Workspace Marketplace and click Install to get the add-on


Step 2: Create API key


  1. Go to Settings and select API keys in your AfterShip Tracking settings.
  2. Click Create API key.

  1. Add the name of the API key for easy reference.
  2. Select API Key as signature header.
  3. Select admin API permissions for Tracking and click Save.

  1. Copy the API key from the popup and download the file and save it to a secure location for future reference.


Step 3: Export the shipment data to a Google sheet


  1. Switch to the tab where you’ve opened a Google spreadsheet.
  2. Go to Extensions tabs.
  3. Select AfterShip tracking from the list of installed add-ons.
  4. Choose Open AfterShip Tracking and paste the copied API Key from AfterShip Tracking admin (Step1: point 7) in the api_key field.
  5. Click Generate to export shipment data from your AfterShip Tracking Shipments dashboard.
