Overview

AfterShip’s Membership Plan is a subscription model designed for teams and organizations. Instead of each user/team member buying a separate subscription, the company buys seats under a single organization. These seats can then be assigned to team members, who get access to the account settings and features according to their assigned roles, like admin, member, support agents, and custom roles.

Q1. How many seats can we add to the membership trial and paid plans?

You can add seats under the membership trial and paid plans (Standard and Enterprise plans) as follows:

Q2. Will the user be automatically charged for the membership plan after the trial expires?

Yes. Once the trial ends, the system automatically converts active trial seats into paid seats. Charges are applied to the saved payment method. If no payment method is added to the account, users will be asked to provide one before the subscription begins. If there are no members in the organization when the trial expires, then we won't charge.

Q3. Can a user with a monthly plan switch to an annual plan of the membership plan?

Yes. Users on a monthly plan can upgrade to an annual plan at any time. Once upgraded, the billing cycle will switch to annual, and any unused portion of the tracking quota in the current monthly plan may be adjusted in the final charge. 

Q4. Will the user get charged for annual billing in one payment or monthly installments?

Annual billing is charged in one upfront payment for the full year. For example, if a seat costs $10 per month per member, the annual plan will be billed as $120 per seat, paid in one invoice. 

Q5. If a user’s Member Plan payment fails for any reason, how long will they retain access to their account?

If a payment fails, the system will automatically retry for a short grace period (typically a few days). During this time, account access will remain available with the member. However, after repeated payment failures, member access will be suspended, but the account itself will remain active.

• 1 Organization can have many seats (1 → N)
• 1 Seat belongs to 1 Member (1 Member → 1 Seat).
• 1 Organization can have many Roles (N)
• 1 Role can belong to many Members.
• But each Member has exactly 1 Role.
• Roles are independent of seat purchases.
