Using AI Search on the Tracking Dashboard
Overview
AfterShip Tracking dashboard now supports AI Search to help you find the shipments or orders you need, faster and easier, by simply typing a question in everyday language. No complex filters or setup required. Just describe what you're looking for, and AI Search delivers instant, relevant results.
What you can do with AI Search
AI Search understands natural language, which means you can search just like you think. Here’s what it supports:
- Search shipments using keywords
Find shipments or orders using:
- Tracking number
- Order number
- Product SKU
- Customer name/email/phone number
- Shipment title
- order ID
- destination postal code
- Notes
- Custom fields
- Search shipments using filters
You can use all the AfterShip Tracking Dashboard's supported filters like shipment status, delivery date, or order creation date as queries in the AI search mode to search for specific set of shipments.
- “Shipments delivered last week”
- “Orders created in July”
- Combine multiple filters
Create more targeted queries by combining different filters. For example:
- “Shipments to New York that are delayed for more than 2 days.”
- “Orders from Germany with delivery time over 7 days”
- "Show me delivered shipments with UPS as the last mile carrier"
How to use AI Search
- Go to the Shipments or Orders dashboard in your AfterShip Tracking dashboard.
- Click on the Search bar at the top and switch to the AI Search mode.
- Type your query using natural language.
Examples:
- “Show shipments from Los Angeles to Chicago created last week.”
- “List orders delivered late in July”
- Press Enter or click Send.
- View the results and take further actions:
- Export the results to CSV or Excel file.
- Save that AI search results as a view for future use.
Tips for better AI results
- Use relevant fields: Include details that align with available fields, such as tracking numbers, dates, locations, product SKUs, or carrier names.
- Be specific: Type precise queries for better results.
Try: “Shipments delayed for more than 3 days in August” instead of just “delayed shipments.”
- Combine filters: Use connectors like
and
orwith
. to refine your query
Example: Shipments from the US and delivered in the last 30 days
Limitations
- Time range restrictions
- Shipments data is only searchable for the past 120 days.
- Orders data is only searchable for the past 365 days. This means if you try to find shipments older than 4 months or orders older than a year, AI Search won't return those results.
- Aggregated results are not yet supported in Search
- If you're looking for summaries, trends, or counts (e.g., "How many shipments were delayed in Q1?"), AI Search can’t currently process these directly.
- For these types of questions, you should use Copilot chat, which is better equipped for aggregation and analytics.
