Overview


Modern customer communication demands personalization, speed, and global reach. The AI Translation and Generation features simplify the localization of email and SMS content, eliminating manual effort. It automatically translates templates into multiple languages, so that customers across different regions experience consistent messaging. 


Please note that:


  • AI translation applies only to editable text fields within templates. Dynamic info such as customer names, product details, or personalized data remains unchanged.
  • Email templates created using the HTML editor do not support AI translation for the email body, though the email subject can still be translated.

How to use AI translation for email and SMS


AI Translation can be used in two primary ways:


  • AI Translate Entire Email/SMS: Translates a complete template in a single action.
  • Partial Email Content Translation: Translates specific, individual text or email subject within an email template.


1. AI translate entire email or SMS


This method translates the full email or SMS template, processing all content elements of an email. It includes subjects, body text, and buttons, while retaining the original template's design and structure. It is ideal for multi-language campaigns or global notification flows.


Use this full-template translation in different scenarios:


Add multi-language email/SMS in flow


When configuring multi-language notifications, AI Translation can automatically translate the default template into selected target languages or duplicate the default version without translation.


How it works:


  1. Navigate to a notification flow and add an Email or SMS action.
  2. Click the β€œβ€¦β€ menu > Manage.
  3. Select Add languages to open the configuration window.



  1. Choose the target language and translation settings given below.
  2. Initiate the translation (click Translate with AI/Add).



  1. Review the three AI-generated versions.
  2. Select the version that aligns best with the brand tone and message.
  3. Click Save



Duplicate and translate email templates


Duplicate the email templates and translate directly within the Email Templates module. This allows users to create localized versions of email templates.


How it works:


  1. Open the Email Templates module.
  2. Find the template to duplicate and translate.
  3. Click the β€œβ€¦β€ menu and select Duplicate.



  1. Enable Translate content with AI and select the target language.



  1. Review the three translated results and apply the preferred one.



Translate email within email editor


Translation can also be done directly within the email editor interface, without leaving the design view.


How it works:


  1. Open the Email template in the editor.
  2. Go to the Layers panel on the left sidebar.
  3. Click the AI Translate button.



  1. Select the target language and click Translate with AI.



  1. Review the three versions and select the most suitable one.



Language selection depends on where you are working. In the Email Templates, the target language must be selected manually from the dropdown menu, whereas in the Flow Email action, the AI automatically translates the content based on the language configured for that email in the flow.


Translate SMS within SMS editor


SMS templates can also be translated easily within the SMS editor itself. 


How it works:


  1. Open the SMS template in the flow editor.
  2. In the text section, locate the message field.
  3. Click the AI magic icon and choose Translate to.



  1. The AI translates based on the configured language in the flow.
  2. Review and click Replace All to apply.



You can ask AI to Generate Again, or click Refine to suggest your requirements.


2. Partial email content translation


In some cases, only a part of an email, such as the subject line or certain text sections, requires translation. Partial translation enables selective content translation rather than the entire email template. 


Scenarios to use the partial translation feature:


Translate only email subject


Individually translate the subject line and preview text without altering other elements of the email.


How it works:


  1. Open the template in the editor.
  2. Navigate to the Settings panel.
  3. In the Email subject section, locate the subject or preview text field.
  4. Click the AI magic icon and select Translate to.
  5. AI automatically translates based on the default flow configuration (Need to choose the target language in the Email Templates module).



  1. Review the translated results.
  2. Click Generate again or Refine to re-generate or modify content accordingly. 
  3. Or, simply, click Replace all to apply translated text.



Translate specific text blocks in email templates


Without affecting the entire template, you can translate certain parts of the email body.


Currently, this feature is available for the Basic Drag and Drop Email Editor only. Support for the Advanced Editor will be available soon.


  1. Open the email template in the editor.
  2. Click on a text block to enable editing mode.
  3. Highlight and select the text to translate.
  4. Click the AI magic icon and choose Translate to.
  5. Choose the target language (in Email Templates module), or AI automatically translates as per the flow configuration.



  1. Review, regenerate (click Generate again), or modify (click Refine) the translation.
  2. Click Replace All to apply the translated text.




How to use AI generation for email and SMS


The AI Generation feature assists in creating high-quality, engaging email and SMS content. Instead of writing manually, describe what you want, and AI generates content based on the given prompts. This not only saves time but also maintains creativity and consistency.


AI Generation currently only supports text content creation. Full email template generation from scratch is not yet available. You can use AI to generate text for specific elements within your templates, including subject lines, body text, and SMS messages.


1. Generate email subject line


AI can create attractive subject lines and preview texts designed to improve engagement and email open rates. 


How it works:


  1. Open the email template in the editor.
  2. Go to the Settings panel.
  3. Under Email subject, click the AI magic icon and select Generate content.



  1. Tell AI what to write and describe the tone or intent of the subject line.
  2. Click Generate to produce three options. 



  1. Insert the preferred one or regenerate as needed.



2. Generate email text content


AI can produce email body text based on specific prompts and tone preferences.


How it works: 


  1. Open the email in the visual editor.
  2. Go to the text block:


  • To replace the entire text block, click the block without placing your cursor inside the text field, or
  • Click inside the text field and place the cursor at a specific position to insert new text.


  1. Click the AI magic icon and describe the required content.
  2. Choose the tone and click Generate.



  1. Review and apply one that fits best. Or regenerate the output as necessary.



3. Rewrite Email Text


AI-powered rephrasing can modify or refine existing text for improved clarity, conciseness, or tone alignment.


This feature is currently supported in the Basic Drag and Drop Editor only. Support for the Advanced Editor will be available soon.


How it works:


  1. Open the email template in the editor and select a text block.
  2. Highlight and select the specific text to modify.
  3. Click the AI magic icon and choose one of the following options:


  • Modify with a prompt – Provide a prompt specifying how the text should change.
  • Rephrase – To retain meaning but improve fluency.
  • Shorten – Condense text to make it more concise.
  • Lengthen – Add more details or explanations to make it comprehensive.



Review the results, regenerate if needed, or refine using additional prompts. If it fits your requirements, apply. 


4. Generate SMS text content


For more concise and impactful SMS communications, AI can generate short messages that align with required tone and character limits. 


How it works:


  1. Open the SMS template in the flow editor.
  2. In the Text section, locate the message field.
  3. Click the AI magic icon and choose Generate content.
  4. Tell AI what to write and select the required tone.
  5. Click Generate to create content.



  1. Review the three versions, select the one that fits your requirement or re-generate to get better versions.


Additional considerations


  1. Language selection depends on where you're working:


  • In Email templates module, select your target language from the dropdown menu.
  • In Flow email action, the AI automatically translates based on the language configured.


  1. Translate or generate email text and review the result:


  • Apply the translated result if it fits your needs.
  • Use Generate again to re-translate the content.
  • Click Refine to modify the translated result describing your requirements.

FAQs


1. Does AI Translation also update translated templates automatically if the original content changes?


No, the translated templates are not automatically updated when the original content is modified. AI Translation works as a one-time process. If any changes are made to the source template, the translation needs to be re-run to reflect the latest updates.


2. Is there a limit on the number of AI translations or generations per account?


Yes, there is a usage limit in place. However, this limit is designed to comfortably support regular use, so most customers will not experience any restrictions during normal operations.
