AfterShip Tracking Data Retention Policy

Plans: All plans Platforms: All eCommerce platforms, Commerce API, Order CSV import

Overview

This article explains how long AfterShip retains tracking-related data across different modules. Retention periods vary based on the feature you’re using and, in some cases, your subscription plan. Understanding these limits helps you manage historical shipment data and analytics effectively.

  1. General tracking data retention

For most AfterShip modules, a standard retention policy applies to all subscription plans.

Applies to:

  • Tracking dashboards
  • Branded tracking page
  • Tracking notifications

Retention details:

  • Retention period: 120 days
  • Policy: Tracking data is automatically deleted 120 days after the tracking record is created, regardless of the subscription plan.

This policy applies across Free, Essentials, Pro, Premium, and Enterprise plans.

  1. Analytics module data retention

The Analytics module supports longer data retention to enable trend analysis, performance comparisons, and year-over-year reporting. Retention duration depends on your subscription plan.
